Hoopeston Area Healthcare Foundation
Making A Difference
The Hoopeston Area Healthcare Foundation was
created in 1997 to offer an additional funding
source for the Hoopeston Regional Health
Center
which encompasses the Hospital, Nursing Home and Country Terrace Senior
Living Apartments.
Through various fundraising efforts, the many
volunteers and supporters of HAHF
have helped raise the necessary dollars needed to support the hospital
in its on-going endeavor to remain at the forefront of providing
state-of-the-art healthcare services to the area.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
HAHF, a not-for-profit organization, is grateful
for your support. Each gift makes a difference,
including the purchase of life saving equipment, and
enabling the hospital to provide programs and
charitable care. All donations are tax-deductible to
the extent allowable by law.
Many different options exist for making a gift to
the Foundation. You may designate your gift to
support any of our programs or you may mark your
gift "unrestricted" allowing the Foundation to apply
your gifts where it is most needed.

schedule and discuss the various giving levels
currently available.
Creating a Tribute or Memorial for Friends
and Family
Making a gift in celebration of a friend or
family member's special occasion or in honor of a
loved one's memory is a thoughtful way of paying
tribute to someone who has touched your life. Send
your gift to Hoopeston Area Healthcare Foundation,
and include the name and address of the honoree or
their family. We will send a personal letter
informing them of your generous gift (we do not
disclose the donation amount).

gift, please call the Foundation office at 217-283-9215.
PLANNED GIVING
Using Stocks, Bonds, or
Property to Make a Gift
Donating appreciated property may
enable you to avoid paying capital gains tax, reduce
your estate tax and receive an income tax deduction.
If you have loss on your investment, it is best to
sell it first, deduct the loss on your taxes, and
then contribute the proceeds.
Bequests Through a Will or
Living Trust
A gift through a will or living
trust (bequest) is a popular way to provide
significant long-term support. We accept bequests of
any size or type. Some assets, such as retirement
funds, may be especially advantageous to leave to a
charity. You may give a particular dollar amount, a
specific property, or a percentage of your estate.
You may also make a gift of the "residue" or "what's
left" of your estate, after providing for your loved
ones.
If you already have a will or living
trust, you don't have to re-write it if you would
like to include Hoopeston Area Healthcare
Foundation; you may add a document or "codicil" to
your existing documents. If you wish, you may
designate your gift to a particular area or program
within the hospital. We recommend that you discuss
such a designation with us to be certain that we can
carry out your intent.
Life Insurance
Life insurance can help you make a
larger gift than you might have thought possible,
while also increasing your total benefit to your
loved ones and generating substantial tax
advantages. You may name the hospital as a
beneficiary and/or make a gift to the ownership
interest in an existing policy. You may also create
a new life insurance policy specifically to benefit
the hospital.
Trust/Annuities
Hoopeston Area Healthcare Foundation offers, a full range of customized gift plans that
may help you reduce taxes increase the yield on
your investments, dispose of non-producing assets,

Remainder Unitrust. These types of plans allow you

Area Healthcare Foundation while also providing
greater financial security for you and your family.
